CJ Horner, LPC, LPCC

I'm CJ Horner — some of you may still know me as Claire. I hold two master's degrees in psychotherapy, and I'm licensed as a professional counselor in Georgia and a clinical counselor in California.

 

Licensed since 2007, I've spent the years since splitting my focus between couples work and deep healing work with survivors of sexual trauma.

​

My pronouns are she/they. I'm genderqueer and femme, and I believe the range of human expression is beautiful, fun, and is completely welcome here.

​

I also hold a master's in Christian Psychological Studies — a deliberate choice, so I could better support people healing from religious harm, clergy abuse, or restrictive doctrines that made adulthood complicated. My own religious deconstruction has been thorough, and it's ongoing.

​

I'm a member of the Georgia and California associations for licensed counselors, as well as the Atlanta and American Group Psychotherapy Societies.

When I'm not tending to my practice, 

I'm likely by a body of water in San Diego, rewatching Chef’s Table, planning the next Halloween creation, or tackling the balancing act that is getting back into roller skating at 51!
